Dissections are a unique approach to education and the effect it can have on people’s approach to horses can be profound. To see the interconnection of the body is an absolute wonder to behold. Dissections are incredibly reflective to our own experiences with horses as we talk about the bodies responses to training and living conditions. The horses body is a library of its life’s events.
We demonstrate structures that most equestrians will have heard of, the thoracic sling, the stay apparatus(front and hind) the hyoid bones, the nuchal ligaments, lower limb tendons, ligaments and so much more. Through mechanical manipulations we can show how the body works as one living structure connected through multiple systems, fascia, nerves, soft tissues, vascular, organs, the intestinal tract and the skeleton. We start right at the beginning by going through fascia right under the skin. Being able to see the diaphragm still held in a vacuum, an amazing structure for all equestrians to see and its connection to the PSOAS muscles. We then move on to a full gut study following digestion through out the intestinal tract. An organ study, talking about functions and common problems I see. We look for adhesions and old injuries in the soft tissues. This exert is a small amount of the full dissection but you will be emailed a full list of the schedule after purchase of your ticket.
My dissections are a hands on experience where everyone is encouraged to be hands on and open discussion is encouraged in the group. These dissections are a life altering  experience and many people report they never view horses that same since. I look forward to meeting everyone for a packed two days of discovery!
